Kosair Children’s Hospital (KCH), a 253-bed teaching facility and the only children’s hospital in Kentucky, serves as the tertiary referral center for central and western Kentucky as well as southern Indiana. The hospital is also the primary pediatric teaching hospital for the University of Louisville health sciences program. Each year there are approximately 8,000 admissions, 50,000 Emergency Department visits and 10,500 outpatient clinic visits.
