The University of Utah Hospital provides care to over five million people in Utah and surrounding states. The Pediatrics Department includes over 140 faculty in every pediatric subspecialty and has a 50 bed NICU and a 42 capacity newborn nursery. Primary Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), adjacent to the University Hospital, is the principal teaching hospital for the Department of Pediatrics and has a 93 bed NICU and a 26 bed PICU. Combined, they had 14,409 inpatient admissions and 295,075 outpatients in 2002.
