The combined Duke-University of North Carolina PPRU involves two large pediatric teaching programs located 12 miles apart, and the UNC School of Pharmacy. These two programs provide regional care for patients throughout North Carolina and neighboring states. Combined the facilities have 280 pediatric inpatient beds and admitted 13,183 children. They provided care for approximately 260,000 outpatient visits. |

Children's Hospital of San Diego, with over 10,000 inpatient admissions

Kosair Children’s Hospital (KCH), a 253-bed teaching facility and the only children’s hospital in Kentucky, serves as the tertiary referral center for central and western Kentucky as well as southern Indiana. The hospital is also the primary pediatric teaching hospital for the University of Louisville health sciences program. Each year there are approximately 8,000 admissions, 50,000 Emergency Department visits and 10,500 outpatient clinic visits. |

The University of Utah Hospital provides care to over five million people in Utah and surrounding states. The Pediatrics Department includes over 140 faculty in every pediatric subspecialty and has a 50 bed NICU and a 42 capacity newborn nursery. Primary Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), adjacent to the University Hospital, is the principal teaching hospital for the Department of Pediatrics and has a 93 bed NICU and a 26 bed PICU. Combined, they had 14,409 inpatient admissions and 295,075 outpatients in 2002. |
